This Privacy Policy explains how Watts, a prepaid electricity meter tracking application developed by TekBridge Pty Ltd (projectBook.IO), handles your information.
The short version: Watts is a fully local-first app. We collect no personal information, we have no servers, no user accounts, and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device and is under your complete control.
1 Overview
Watts is designed with privacy as a foundational principle, not an afterthought. The application operates entirely on your device without any network communication to external servers operated by TekBridge Pty Ltd or any third party.
By using Watts, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the application.
2 Data We Collect
TekBridge Pty Ltd does not collect any data from users of Watts.
The following data is stored locally on your device solely for the purpose of providing app functionality:
- Meter names and nicknames you choose to assign
- Electricity unit readings you manually enter
- Top-up amounts and dates you record
- Usage calculations derived from your entries
- App preferences and settings
This data is stored in a local SQLite database on your Android device. It is never transmitted to, accessed by, or visible to TekBridge Pty Ltd or any third party.
3 How We Use Data
Since no data is collected by us, there is no data for TekBridge Pty Ltd to use. All data entered into Watts is used exclusively by the app on your device to:
- Display your meter readings and usage history
- Calculate consumption trends and statistics
- Generate CSV exports on your request
- Restore your data when you import a CSV backup
4 Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not share any data with any third parties. Watts does not include:
- Advertising SDKs or ad networks
- Analytics or crash reporting services
- Social media integrations
- Any form of network communication to our servers
The CSV export feature writes a file to your device's local storage. Sharing that file with any person or service is entirely at your discretion and constitutes your own act — not ours.
5 Data Storage & Security
All app data is stored in a local SQLite database within the app's private storage on your Android device. This storage is sandboxed by the Android operating system and is not accessible to other apps.
Data security depends on your device's security measures — screen lock, device encryption, and physical security. We recommend keeping your Android device updated and using a screen lock.
Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all app data stored on your device. We recommend exporting a CSV backup before uninstalling if you wish to retain your history.
6 Your Rights & Control
Because all data lives on your device, you have full control at all times:
- Access: All data is visible within the app
- Export: Use the CSV export to get all your data
- Delete: Delete individual entries in-app, or uninstall to remove everything
- Portability: Import your CSV onto any new device running Watts
Since TekBridge Pty Ltd holds no data about you, there is nothing to request from us regarding data access or erasure under data protection laws.
7 Children's Privacy
Watts does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal information is collected whatsoever, the app is safe to use regardless of age.
8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date on this page and, where material changes occur, by posting a notice in the app on the next launch.
Continued use of Watts after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
